Kasper Christiansen / Founder & CEO

Kasper Christiansen(34, resides in Copenhagen with his girlfriend)

Kasper is the Founder & CEO of Forgotten Nature. His passion for Flora & Fauna, goes all the way back to childhood, where he spend his majority of time, in zoos or studying books at the local library.

Kasper is an autodidact Herpetologist and have been active in the conservation community for several years.

His love for the Forgotten and lesser known species and areas ultimately culminated in the beginning of Forgotten Nature in 2019.

Steen Thomsen / Chairman of the Board

Steen Thomsen(63, married, 2 children, resides in Charlottenlund, Denmark)

Steen is a professor at Copenhagen Business School, where he teaches corporate governance.  He is the Novo Nordisk Foundation Professor of Enterprise Foundations and also serves as a founding board member of Boardmeter (a start-up which sells software-based board evaluations) and a number of professional and charitable associations.

Henrik Herold

Henrik Herold(62, married, 2 children, resides in Randers, Denmark)

Henrik is CEO of The Tropical Zoo / Randers Regnskov in Denmark, renowned for their different ways to display animals in their natural habitats roaming freely in their 3 large and natural Domes of Africa, Asia and South America. Recently Henrik and Randers Regnskov have bought up land in Equador they have turned into Bigai biological reserve, that have one of the largest biodiversity in the world and is home to the infamous Bushmaster and Jaguar. Henrik and his talented team in Randers Regnskov have done incredible job breeding many species in captivity over the years, and in the recent years one of their main Herpetocultural achievements have been reproducing the Bushmaster several times as the second zoo ever to do so.

Jeppe Christiansen / Boardmember

Jeppe Christiansen (63, divorced, 2 children, resides in Copenhagen)

Jeppe is founder and CEO of Maj Invest, a Danish investment company.

In 1986 Jeppe started working in the Danish banking sector, in 1993 he got a job as Deputy Manager at LD Pensions, and in 1999 he moved on to a job as executive director at Danske Bank. In 2004 Jeppe was made CEO of LD Pensions, and in 2005 he founded Maj Invest.

Jeppe is Chairman of the Board of Directors at Haldor Topsøe, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Novo Nordisk and a member of the Board of Directors at Kirkbi (LEGO holding company) and Novo Holdings.

Jeppe holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and is appointed Adjunct Professor of Finance at CBS.

Kurt Kara

Kurt Kara(51, divorced, 2 Children, resides in Nærum, Denmark).

Kurt works on a daily basis at Maj Invest, where he holds the position as Head of Equities. His main responsability is the 6 billion USD large flagship fund “Maj Invest Global Value Equities”, which he has been managing for more than 15 years. Prior to Maj Invest, Kurt worked at Danske Bank for 5 years and two years at the Danish Ministry of Finance. Kurt holds a masters degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen.

Julie Strand

Julie Strand (32, resides in Nordjylland with her boyfriend & child)

Julie has a MS.C in Biology and is currently doing a PhD at Aalborg University.  Julie’s work focuses on how biobanking can be applied as a multifunctional tool to assist and supplement the current conservation strategies and management within amphibians worldwide.  Julie’s passion is to be able to contribute to developing tools and techniques which have the ability to decelerate the loss of biodiversity worldwide.
